Late fall of 2012, Will & I were contacted to come down to Westport, CT to assess a statue that was broken during tree removal after the hurricane Sandy that hit CT. This marble statue has been in the family for at least 3 generations now. The owner was heartbroken when he found it cracked in half on the ground. This stone is sculpted into a lovely feminine shape; its free flowing form is quite captivating.
After assessing the sculpture we secured it off the ground for the winter months, and waited for warm weather. We made the trip back to Westport on a beautiful day in early May, and caringly mended this family heirloom. Placing her back to where she belongs, watching over the family, as she has done for generations before.
Lisa and Will did a wonderful job. I can’t tell you upset I was to discover that this statue which has been in our family since 1963 had been split in half during cleanup from Hurricane Sandy. I found Beyond the Gravestone on the web and despite the distance, Will and Lisa agreed to come to Westport to take a look. At first, I had my doubts that the statue could be fixed but after their visit where they stabilize the pieces, I felt much better. The final results speak for themselves. It is back to original condition. Thanks so much.
