Ashford Warrenville Cemetery Before & Afters

Beyond the Gravestone has been very busy this late fall having finished the Warrenville Cemetery in Ashford Ct.  and accepting the task of restoring the Knowlton Cemetery, also in Ashford Ct. We are advertised in the November/December issue of Yankee Magazine (page 122) and we had display ad in the holiday edition of the Reminder news.  As we start the winter season we will be reaching to local cemetery commissions and sextons to introduce ourselves and familiarize them with the services we offer.  We hope this new year finds all of our friends and their families happy and...

Warrenville Cemetery

My son Justin & I spent from 10:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. yesterday cleaning stones. We are about halfway way done. Lots of details! He said… since he is working for me now, he is starting a Union. He wants our company to enforce Taco Tuesdays. What a fun time we had laughing under a bright yellow tree and a cool fall day! My son is priceless, what a goof he is!

“In memory of Louis Leo 1897 – 1942 Lost at sea WW II”

This past week we finished the cleaning of a stone in Dayville Ct. When we were done, the client was very pleased and sent us photos of one of the people whose name is on the stone. The photo is from the early 1940’s of man in uniform on a merchant ship, he stands there on deck, full of life and proud. Also sent were letters that he had written to his...

Interview with Elyssa Millspaugh For “The Mansfield Patch”

This afternoon, Will & I met with Elyssa at the Mansfield General Store here in Mansfield Center,   for a casual interview about our new company for the  online local news paper called “The Mansfield Patch.” As we sat under the umbrella that shaded us from the hot and humid afternoon sun, we had the chance to verbalize how rewarding our new venture was for us. “Providing peace of mind, for those left behind” is truly our mission. We just won the bid to clean the Fallen Fire Fighter’s Memorial, at the Fire Academy, in Windsor Locks, CT. How honored we...

Our Weekend at the Brooklyn Fair

Beyond the Gravestone Blog 8/26/2012   It is Sunday, August 26 and day four of the Brooklyn fair. We are having a great time here meeting a lot of people and enjoying the great fair food. The weather has been warm (HOT) during the day and comfortable at night. We have spoken to several people who think what we are doing is a wonderful service that is needed, and we have met those that think our undertaking is just a little  morbid. We have new friends across the way at the Del’s Lemonadestand, those poor guys were stuck sitting on crates Saturday morning and Lisa brought over a couple...
